Chaos in Christianshavn

A bit of excitement on my way home from Studieskolen tonight, there was a car in the middle of the road in Christianshavn, by the intersection that leads to Christiana actually. There were also loads of stones lying around that looked like they were being used to throw at the police. Fortunately when i got there, the excitement had died down, the car was still burning, but most of the protesters had dissipated or had been arrested, not sure. I didn´t have my camera with me but I found a good picture on politiken.dk. Apparently there was a lot of problems around Nørrebro also, for most of the day. Earlier in the day they had cleared out Ungdomshuset, which I assume set off the trouble.

Winter Wonderland

Just back from a short trip to London for my birthday. Seems like I brought some lovely weather from Denmark with me. It´s not too often you see snow in London but here it is. Now that I´m back to Copenhagen, it´s snowing here! Working hard here at Café Pegasus in Vesterbro ( www.pegasus-cph.dk ), hoping to do a bit of travelling now that I´m earning again! Trips to Århus and Sweden coming up, hopefully I´ll get some cool pictures to post.

Here is Swedish Paul, Emma and me out at my favourite bar in Copenhagen, the Moose. I´m not sure if it´s the name or the cheap beer but it´s always good fun!
It may look a bit basic right now, but hopefully soon I´ll get the hang of this and be able to use it to keep everyone posted on what I´m up to as well as to find out what all of you are up to!

A Year of My Life in Copenhagen

Well, it´s a bit late getting started, but better late than never (my lecturers never seem to agree with this). Last week of classes before Christmas break and then Trine will be joining me here for 2 whole weeks! We will be spending Christmas with Louise´s family on the 24th for a traditional Danish Jul, and then on the 25th I will be preparing a not-so-traditional Canadian Christmas.
